
As Managing Editor of DV Guys Philip Hodgetts adopted the podcast techniques within three weeks of the technology for enclosures in RSS feeds was developed. Since then the company has applied the same technique to the replacement show, Creative Planet's Digital Production BuZZ (consistently in the Top 100 Tech podcasts in the iTunes sign-ups) and the other podcasts the company produces.
Two of the principles in Intelligent Assistance are also involved as founders of the startup klickTab, the only technology to allow for commerce in an RSS feed. klickTab has a patent applied for around the technology. Big Brains For Rent are developing the entire web application for content publishing, metadata management, client sign up and custom (commercial) RSS feed building.
As well as the flagship Digital Production BuZZ (Talk radio for digital production, post production and distribution) weekly, the company produces The Schubin Report for NewBay Media (formerly CMP); the commercially oriented ProMax Update for ProMax and Cancer Talk for Vital Options International.
Big Brains For Rent's Philip Hodgetts is an expert in the field of digital distribution, being invited to present the keynote address at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' NEXT TV day in November 2006. The presentation is available online.
He will be presenting on this, and related subjects at NAB 2007's Post|Production Conference in April. He is also the author of the upcoming book Television 3.0: How television became more personalized, diversified and prosperous while it was restoring democracy.
